Alan Newman grew up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. With degrees from Penn State University and New York University, he pursued a career in engineering and banking. He has traveled to Israel many times and served on the boards and councils of multiple philanthropic and pro-Israel political action organizations. He and his wife Phylis live in Florida and have two sons.
